HeliTacker

The HeliTracker is an automated tracking and detection system designed for helipads. It continuously monitors the transponders of nearby aircraft and helicopters, automatically activating the lighting system when an aircraft is detected within a defined zone.

A revolution in helipad control.

HeliTracker brings a breakthrough in heliport management by acting like a secondary radar: it automatically detects approaching helicopters and activates the lighting system without pilot input. Beyond that, HeliTracker intelligently manages multiple simultaneous traffic situations, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations even at busy heliports.

Smart filtering, precise activation.

With HeliTracker, you can easily filter air traffic and adjust detection zones directly on the module’s touchscreen. This allows you to include or exclude specific aircraft, ensuring that your heliport lighting activates only when authorized or selected helicopters approach — delivering precise, tailored control for your operations.

No onboard setup, full ground intelligence.

HeliTracker requires no special procedures or additional equipment in the helicopter. It directly receives and decodes the transponder signals from your aircraft, using this data to automatically assist and guide you during approach by activating the lighting and managing heliport operations seamlessly.

The HeliTracker is an automated tracking and detection system designed for helipads. It continuously monitors the transponders of nearby aircraft and helicopters, automatically activating the lighting system when an aircraft is detected within a defined zone. The HeliTracker can detect traffic up to 100 km away, depending on the antenna position and terrain topology.

The system creates a “virtual cylinder” that defines the 3D detection zone, triggering the lighting activation when an aircraft enters this area. It offers transponder filtering options to control which aircraft will activate the lighting system based on their unique transponder address. Two filtering modes are available:

  1. Inclusive Mode: The system activates only for aircraft whose transponder addresses are listed on an “authorized addresses” list. If an aircraft’s address is not on this list, the system will not activate.
  2. Exclusive Mode: The system works with all transponders except those listed on a “denied addresses” list. Aircraft on this list will not be able to activate the system.

The HeliTracker supports transponders with or without ADS-B OUT functionality, although the absence of this feature may affect position accuracy. This system allows for activation without any ground action or pilot intervention, making it more secure than radio-based VHF activation (PCL).
